Feedback and the power pose

Taylor Meredith

Did anyone else read this article on power posing? It got me thinking about the possibility of adopting a feedback power pose. Here is what I came up with:

In my perfect world feedback is effective and a means to growth, change and empowerment. But there are times where feedback is ineffective. It can be judgemental or snarky or rooted in assumption. Even effective feedback can be difficult to hear sometimes and even more difficult to accept. I have decided that in these times of ineffective or difficult feedback I am going to make the choice to listen with a feedback power pose. Instead of getting defensive, I will embrace the culture of feedback. Instead of feeling hurt, I will reflect and empathize. Instead of choosing anger, I will choose understanding. Practicing this will allow me to reflect and move forward with spirit. Tomorrow is Monday, the perfect place to start.
