Do Good

Taylor Meredith

As a Policy Studies major at Syracuse, I learned a lot.  The basic principles of the major are problem-solving and doing good. In addition to our coursework (that included economics, law, and statistics classes) there was a yearly volunteer requirement. I spent several semesters volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club but my favorite semester was when we taught students to code after school - thank you, Professor Coplin for convincing me to learn to code in 2003!

Over the past few years I have felt disconnected from the "do gooder" me. I have donated money, time and sweat to various charitable events and races and I support companies that give back (like this one) when I can but it doesn't feel like enough. My goal is to find an organization or event that has a mission I believe in, interesting people and just feels right.
